Green Community Initiatives was honored to participate in a two-day (15-16/06/2026) training on Policy Analysis and Advocacy organized by Restless Development Tanzania in partnership with UNFPA. The training brought together more than 15 youth-led and youth-focused organizations from across Tanzania who are working to advance the rights and wellbeing of young people.
The invitation recognized the role GCI continues to play in empowering communities at the grassroots level, particularly in areas of youth development, child protection, and elderly care. In response, GCI nominated a representative from our program team to take part in the capacity-building session.
Over the two days, participants engaged in practical sessions on understanding public policy, analyzing how policies affect young people, and developing advocacy strategies to influence positive change. The training created space for learning, experience sharing, and collaboration among organizations with a shared commitment to youth development.
In our confirmation, GCI expressed appreciation for the opportunity and our readiness to engage alongside other youth-led CSOs. We emphasized our continued commitment to advancing advocacy that is grounded in community needs and evidence.
We extend our sincere thanks to Restless Development Tanzania and UNFPA for convening this important platform. As GCI, we are taking forward the knowledge and tools gained to strengthen our policy engagement and amplify the voices of young people in the communities we serve.
