At Green Community Initiatives (GCI), we believe that good health and education are essential for building strong communities. Our Primary Healthcare and Education program focuses on improving access to vital health services and educating the community about important health issues. This program specifically targets Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), early pregnancy, malaria, and nutrition.
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR):
We provide education and awareness on SRHR, helping youth, women, and men make informed decisions about their reproductive health. Our efforts include family planning counseling, information on sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and addressing issues like early pregnancy to reduce health risks and ensure better outcomes for families.
HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (TB):
Our program works to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and TB by offering testing, treatment, and prevention education. We engage communities through local campaigns and encourage them to get tested, while also providing counseling and support for those living with these conditions.
Early Pregnancy and Malaria Awareness:
We focus on educating young people about the dangers of early pregnancy and its impact on their health and future. At the same time, we run awareness campaigns on malaria prevention, promoting the use of mosquito nets and other preventive measures in communities vulnerable to this disease.
Nutrition and General Health Education:
We promote good nutrition, especially for pregnant women, children, and vulnerable groups. Our educational programs emphasize the importance of a balanced diet and access to essential vitamins and minerals for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
