GCI have implemented a three-month project called “TUWALINDE project’’ aimed at Promoting positive parent-child relationships and reduce violent parenting practices in Shinyanga District Council, Shinyanga Region, which has been funded by Women Fund Tanzania-Trust. The primary beneficiaries of this project were women and children. The project has reached a total of 1,500 target beneficiaries whereby 700 are children (350girls, 350boys), 800 adults (450men, 350women) in the period of January to March 31st 2022. Ward Junior councils have been established, men engage dialogues through KAHAWA, BAO, DALADALA and BODABODA local points have been initiated and continue to happen whereby men gather and discuss issues around SRHR, violence against women and children, GBV, HIV/AIDS, family planning and other STIs. The dialogues also focused on abandoning traditional practices that trigger out prevalence of GBV practices within and outside households. Intergenerational dialogues that bring together youth, children, men, women, traditional healers and religious leaders into discussions on matters related to SRHR, HIV/AIDS, positive parenting and other health related issues that affect them
