Green Community Initiatives (GCI) is the Non-Governmental Organization registered under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act number 24 of 2002 as amended from time to time and issued registration Certificate with registration number 00NGO/R/1265 on 20th August 2020 with a mandate to operate in Tanzania Mainland. GCI is headquartered in Shinyanga Municipality, Shinyanga Region, Tanzania.
GCI is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious and non-partisan organization that exists to promote, support and defend rights of all children, youths, women, people living with HIV/AIDS and people with disability, alleviate poverty and hence tackle all socio-economic challenges through collective efforts with the community, stakeholders and other development actors.

M&E Officer (1 post)
REPORTS TO: PMEAL Manager
PLACE OF WORK: GCI headquarter (Shinyanga Municipality, Shinyanga region)
JOB CATEGORY: Volunteer
JOB PURPOSE:
Supporting the monitoring and evaluation functions and related tasks. The operational requirements of the department and the organization will dictate the type and allocation of workload.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct monitoring and evaluation and assessment in various locations to ensure that the implementation of the project activities go in line with the targets and deadlines.
Develop the overall framework for project M&E. For example, annual project reviews. Participatory impact assessments, process monitoring, operation monitoring and lesson-learned workshops.
Guide the process for identifying and designing the key indicators for each component, to record and report physical progress against the plan activities also steer the process for designing the format of such progress reports.
With consortium partners, local NGOs and stakeholders set out the framework and procedures for the evaluation of project activities.
With the other implanting partners, review their existing approaches and management information systems and agree on any required changes, support and resources.
Guide staff and implementing partners in preparing their progress reports together analyze these reports in terms of problem and actions needed. Prepare consolidates progress reports for project management to submit to the relevant bodies, in accordance with approved reporting formats and timing.
Review monitoring reports. Analyze them for impact evaluation and to identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation.
Collaborate with staff and implementing partners in qualitative monitoring and undertake regular visits to the field to support implementation of M&E and to identify where adaptations might be needed.
Ensure that, in general, project monitoring arrangements comply with the project documents and, in particular, the provisions of this agreement are fully observed in the design of project M&E.
Prepare reports on M&E findings, as required, working closely with financial officer of the consortium partners, technical staff and other implementing partners.
Handle updating organization automated MEAL system, and utilizing it to generate feedback to support making decision with regards to corrective action.
Experience and knowledge required:
Minimum 1 or 2-years working experience in M&E. Must have strong knowledge of monitoring tools
Ability to develop case study and project success stories
A proven ability to take on new tasks willingly.
Able to work under pressure, to deadlines and to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
Have a keen eye for detail, committed to their own personal development and undertake relevant training and development.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and other marginalized groups.
Possess effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to a wide range of clients and/or beneficiaries.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor in Statistics, project planning and management, social works or equivalent.
Computer literacy – Microsoft packages including SPSS, Outlook, Edger, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various database packages.
Personal qualities:
Flexibility and a willingness to provide a support function are essential.
Genuine ability to prioritize and manage workload and adapt and accommodate high priority tasks, ensuring effectiveness in the role.
Ability to communicate with stakeholders and work together to achieve desired outcomes.

Finance Officer (1 post)
REPORTS TO: Finance and Administration Manager
PLACE OF WORK: GCI headquarter (Shinyanga Municipality, Shinyanga region)
JOB CATEGORY: Volunteer
JOB PURPOSE:
Supporting the finance function across all major finance functions e.g., Credit Control, Cash book, Purchase Ledger, clerical and accounting tasks, but not necessarily assigned on an ongoing basis to a specific function. The operational requirements of the department and the organization will dictate the type and allocation of workload.
Duties and Responsibilities
Capturing of creditors and debtors on the accounting system
Preparing and Processing Payments and Receipts on cashbook
Preparation of files, ensure the adherence to the financial requirements.
Effective capturing and processing of data, and reconciliations.
Financial processing up to trial balance
Ensuring correct allocation of transactions or accounts in the general ledger
Managing and recording Petty Cash
Liaison with external auditors
Experience and knowledge required:
Minimum 1 or 2-years working experience in a finance department. Must have strong knowledge of Creditors, General Ledger, purchase ledger and bank reconciliation.
A proven ability to take on new tasks willingly.
Have a keen eye for detail, committed to their own personal development and undertake relevant training and development.
Able to work as part of a small team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and other marginalized groups.
Up to date working knowledge and general level of competence in the use of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Edger, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various database packages.
Possess effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to a wide range of clients and/or beneficiaries.
To be in possession of, or working towards, professional accounting qualification.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor or diploma in accounting or equivalent.
Computer literacy – Microsoft packages including Outlook, Edger, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various database packages.
Personal qualities:
Genuine ability to prioritize and manage workload and adapt and accommodate high priority tasks, ensuring effectiveness in the role.
Ability to communicate with stakeholders and work together to achieve desired outcomes.

Office and Administration Assistant (1 post)
REPORTS TO: Finance and Administration Manager

JOB PURPOSE:
The office and administration assistant ensures smooth running of our organization’s offices and contributes in driving sustainable growth e.g., ensuring safety in the office, cleanness and organization of official files, but not necessarily assigned on an ongoing basis to a specific function. The operational requirements of the department and the organization will dictate the type and allocation of workload.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
Supervise administrative staff and divide responsibilities to ensure performance
Manage agendas/travel arrangements/appointments etc. for the upper management
Manage phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages etc.)
Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures
Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial and other data
Track stocks of office supplies and place orders when necessary
Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned
Assist colleagues whenever necessary.
Experience and knowledge required:
Minimum 1 or 2-years working experience in as an office administrator, office assistant or relevant role.
Able to work under pressure, to deadlines and to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
Able to work as part of a small team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and other marginalized groups.
Possess effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to a wide range of clients and/or beneficiaries.

Education Qualifications:
Proven experience as an office administrator, office assistant or relevant role
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and office management software (SPSS etc.)
Qualifications in secretarial studies will be an advantage
