Intergenerational dialogue Session to address harmful social norms and traditions that perpetuate VAWC

On Saturday 20 April 2024, Green Community Initiatives took a significant step forward in our mission to combat violence by hosting a transformative public meeting at Zobogo Primary School. This gathering was not just an event; it was a powerful convergence of local SUNGUSUNGU groups and traditional song performers, all united in the cause for change. Their participation amplified our message and deepened community understanding of the urgent need to address and eradicate harmful norms that perpetuate violence against women and children.

"The fight against violence starts with understanding and challenging the norms that enable it," stated the Village Executive Officer (VEO) during his address at the meeting. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in creating a safer environment for all.

A community member echoed this sentiment, saying, "We must actively work together to break the cycle of violence. It's our responsibility to protect and uplift each other." Their words resonated deeply with everyone present, highlighting the shared commitment and collective determination to make a tangible difference.

The energy and commitment displayed at the meeting underscored the collective determination to make a tangible difference. Green Community Initiatives remains steadfast in its dedication to providing education and fostering dialogue that challenges and transforms societal attitudes. Together with our community partners and supporters, we are not just raising awareness; we are driving meaningful change. Join us in this vital journey towards a world free from violence! ????????
