 GCI Foundation is Umbrella in rain, Blanket in winter and Ice in summer. GCI is a name that belongs to love, shelter and humanity.

Through an environmental workshop organized by GCI, I gained skills in community engagement and environmental advocacy. I later took what I learned at GCI and went back to my former O-level secondary school in Simiyu region to lead a tree-planting campaign, which conducted on 17th and 18th of January, 2024. I didn’t just plant trees, but I mobilized a group of students and taught them that a healthy environment is their fundamental human right. It was my first real chance to turn scientific theory into community action and seeing those students take ownership of their own environment, is still one of my proudest achievement.
